There are numerous options nearby. The nearest towns are Pencaitland, Haddington and Tranent, but the east side of Edinburgh is less than 30 mins away. If you're making a weekend of it there are loads of places worth visiting on the East Lothian coast or in the Borders.

In the evening we'll have a wood-fired pizza van serving up a range of options, the "candy shop" will be open and of course there will be cake!
The key thing to know is that we are hoping to hold the ceremony outdoors on grass. If the weather's awful we'll move it indoors, but it is Scotland in May - so even in "good" weather you might want to think about an extra layer for that bit. Ladies, best to avoid stilettos (or bring a pair of heel stoppers if you can't part with them!).
Otherwise, wear whatever you like as long you can cèilidh in it! Kilts are strongly encouraged if you have one, as is morning dress if that's your thing - and you won't be alone in either.
Serving military officers: in the day, No. 1s with medals and sword. For the evening, mess dress or black tie (Edinburgh order strongly encouraged for Riflemen) with miniatures. If you're with us for the day, drop your evening rig into the Castle entrance before the ceremony - time and space for changing will be available.
